4m Floors UK have created a timelapse video of one of our recent projects. We wanted to showcase the outstanding work we do with our clients across the UK. The video was shot over a week in a factory based in Wolverhampton.

What They needed!
Lines and demarcation of areas play a crucial role in big factories for several reasons. These markings serve as visual cues and organizational tools that enhance safety, efficiency, productivity, and overall management of the facility.
Hard Wearing Long Lasting Floors
This is a heavy traffic warehouse and is in use 24/7 when works are complete. It was essential to install a floor that can cope with unique challenges these environments pose. Heavy traffic warehouses experience constant movement of heavy machinery, forklifts, and personnel, creating significant wear and tear on the flooring. Here are some compelling reasons why Flowcoat SF41 is a preferred choice for such industrial settings.
Safety Enhancements: One of the primary reasons for having clear lines and demarcations is to improve safety. Marked pathways and aisles help prevent accidents, guide the movement of pedestrians and vehicles, and reduce the risk of collisions. They also highlight hazardous zones, restricted areas, and emergency exits, ensuring that employees and visitors can navigate the factory floor safely.
Organization and Efficiency: Lines and demarcations create a well-organized layout for the factory. They help define specific work zones, production areas, storage spaces, and traffic paths. A well-planned floor layout minimizes unnecessary movements, reduces bottlenecks, and streamlines the workflow, ultimately leading to increased efficiency in operations.
Compliance and Standardisation: In some industries, there are specific regulations and safety standards that factories must adhere to. Properly marked lines and demarcations help the facility comply with these regulations and ensure a safe working environment for employees.
Inventory Management: Demarcated storage areas aid in effective inventory management. By having designated spaces for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, it becomes easier to track inventory levels and prevent mix-ups or misplacements.

What We Did
Working closely with our client we planned and designed a schedule of works to suit the clients needs. The warehouse had many other companies working in areas fitting and installing at the same time. Adhering to the schedule is essential when working on this type of project. We use our 30 years of experience to achieve the highest possible outcomes and customer satisfaction. The job took around a week to complete start to finish, please take a look at the video to see the transformation for yourself.

What We Used.
Router Tools - Grinders: For concrete floors, a grinder used to remove surface contaminants, such as dirt, oil, grease, and stains. These tools create a rough profile on the concrete, improving the adhesion of the epoxy coating.
Vacuum Cleaner: After completing the surface preparation steps, we used an industrial vacuum cleaner to remove any remaining dust or debris. A clean surface is essential to prevent imperfections in the epoxy coating.
Epoxy Coatings: Unparalleled Protection and Durability Epoxy coatings have earned their reputation for exceptional adhesion, unmatched durability, and resistance to chemicals. Flowcoat SF41 takes these benefits to new heights, providing a tough shield that safeguards floors from the daily challenges they face.
2-Component System: The Chemistry of Success Flowcoat SF41's secret lies in its ingenious 2-component system. We've carefully formulated this coating, combining epoxy resin and a potent curing agent. The magic happens when these two components are mixed together just before application. The result is a transformative chemical reaction, kickstarting the curing process, and hardening the coating into a resilient shield that will stand the test of time.
Thin Layer, Big Impact: Smoother Finishes Made Easy Flowcoat SF41 is the epitome of "less is more." Its design allows for a thin layer application, making it the ideal choice for achieving sleek, smooth finishes. This is especially beneficial when aiming to cover minor imperfections on the substrate, leaving a flawless appearance that's bound to impress.
High Build Coating: The Power of Self-Smoothing Don't let its thin layer fool you—Flowcoat SF41 is a high build coating that defies expectations. Thanks to its impressive self-smoothing properties, the coating can build up thickness without any pesky sagging or running. The result? Floors that not only look stunning but also boast enhanced protection against wear and tear.
